[Introduction] [Objectives] [Course Schedule]  [Participants] [Resource Persons] [Gallery]

The United Nation’ s Millennium Summit in September 2000 adopted eight major goals, which were internationally agreed and accepted as a framework for measuring development progress. Although persons under the age of 30 represent the majority of the population in many developing countries, the role they could play in the MDGs’ implementation does not find much consideration. On this account, the Course offered an extraordinary opportunity to discuss the status of implementation of the MDGs in South and Central Asia as well as the role youth can play in the process.

  1. To raise awareness of the MDGs and the role youth can play in their implementation.

  2. To examine national and regional ‘best practices’ and share innovative experiences among participants towards achieving the MDGs.

  3. To enhance the effectiveness of young professionals to carry out youth related programmes in respect to the MDGs.
